"This camp has changed my son greatly. He's willing to go to any length to do what he has to do to be a responsible individual. I am very proud of him! Thank you from the depths of my heart."
"This past year since going to your camp I have used the values and lessons you taught me. By using these, I lettered in wrestling, have become a better friend to my parents, become more responsible and have excelled in art. All of this because your camp taught me perseverance, courage, courtesy, manners, chores and hard work"
"I can't begin to tell you what an impression my talk with the boys made on me. The fact that you give these kids who have so little such a great experience. I feel greatly moved."

Located in the majestic wilderness of the Sequoia National Forest, R.M. Pyles Boys Camp seeks to instill new hope and confidence in disadvantaged boys. Every day is filled with a series of rigorous and increasingly challenging activities. Coupled with tough yet sincere love and teamwork, these boys are given opportunities to accomplish the seemingly impossible. Then learn that daily and long-term challenges can be overcome through dedication, hard work and self-reliance.
R.M. Pyles Boys Camp was established in 1949 and has grown into a comprehensive, multi-year program. Focus is given to building self-confidence, setting goals, making decisions and learning that success comes only through significant personal effort. Positive peer groups and the guidance of successful former campers provide a sound environment for this change. A lasting effect is accomplished with reunions, field trips, leadership training and college scholarships.
Pyles Boys Camp gives direction to boys who come from broken homes and limited opportunity, boys who are exposed to street gangs, drugs and a relentless sense of despair. Pyles Boys Camp gives these boys strength of character and hope for their future. Our ultimate goal is to help create productive and responsible citizens.
Each year, more than 600 boys from six Southern California counties participate in the program, with more than 20,000 having completed the program since it began. Countless success stories feel the volunteer-driven organization and help it raise the funds necessary to continue its mission.
Pyles Boys Camp receives no federal or state funds, nor is there any cost to the boys or their families. Prevention has repeatedly proven to be more cost effective than rehabilitation or corrections programs. It costs approximately $1000 to send a boy through our program. Incarceration, placement in group homes and juvenile hall costs taxpayers more than $30,000 per year.
Pyles Camp is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax deductible. For further information and to make personal and corporate contributions, please contact us.
